The Red Bull team has revealed a new line-up for the 2026 Formula 1 season, moving up Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its senior team and handing 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his debut Formula 1 seat. Lindblad, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be team-mate to New Zealander Liam Lawson at the sister squad VCARB. This reshuffling results in Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat post a half-decade in F1. Who is Arvid Lindblad? Arvid Lindblad took part in FP1 for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix in the current season. The youngster was marked out as a potential future star by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Regarding the company's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "appears very talented", commending his "pure speed". The team prepared a programme for some time to ready Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, including appearances in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City. The rookie said it was a "proud moment", adding: "Next season represents a huge step, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and step up. I am incredibly excited to get started." Lindblad has taken a couple of victories in F2 this year and is sixth in the standings ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman's Chance The French driver celebrates his first podium in F1, secured at the Zandvoort race this season. The Frenchman's debut season started in difficult fashion when he crashed on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers of the year. He featured an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies 10th in the drivers' standings. A senior team figure commented: "Isack has displayed great maturity and proved to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel next to Max." The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "ready". The Lawson Decision To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have chosen Lawson instead of Tsunoda. Lawson started 2025 with the main team but was moved back after just two races. He has found his form at the junior outfit with some strong performances, persuading Red Bull he deserves another season. The Japanese driver, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His best result is a P6, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's points total. The driver market moves confirm that there is also no place on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 for 2026.
